JOURNALISM TRAINING IN THE DIGITAL ERA: VIEWS FROM THE FIELD

Position Vacant for Community Development Officer, Aboriginal Programs

Leichhardt Council is seeking to employ an Aboriginal Community Development Officer (Salary: $ 67,808 - $77,380 per annum + super) You will be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background, and have experience leading effective community development processes with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander groups, communities and organisations. You will undertake broader community development programs with Leichhardt’s culturally and linguistically diverse community members, and as a member of Council’s Social Planning and Community Development Team, you will work with colleagues within the Council and with community partners to promote community welfare, wellbeing and participation. CCDNSW and TAFE Outreach


Ultimo TAFE has been developing and running a Community Cultural Development Course since 2009. In 2009 the first stage of a 3 stage Certificate IV course began. The first two stages are:
  • Community Cultural Development Frameworks
  • Developing a Creative Proposal with a Specific Community, and focuses on preparing a CCD project proposal, creating a budget and developing a marketing plan.
